Don't Make the Dangerous Mistake of Buying a Clean & Pure Counter Top Water Filter

Don't Make the Dangerous Mistake of Buying a Clean & Pure Counter Top Water Filter

Water Filter

The clean & pure counter top water filter is not the high quality product that it is advertised as. The manufacturers advertise it as a maintenance free counter top water filter, and that is absolutely true. But, let me explain to you why "maintenance free" at least in this instance, is a bad thing.

The actual meaning of maintenance free in this case is that there are no replaceable parts on the unit. When something as simple as a filter goes bad, you have to throw out the entire unit and purchase a new one. You might think of the clean & pure counter top water filter as a "one-hit wonder".

You would think that something that is touted as a maintenance free counter top water filter would have a long lifespan. However, many customers who have purchased the clean & pure counter top water filter say that it barely passed the 30 day guarantee period before breaking down.

If you were to do an internet search for consumer product reviews for the clean & pure counter top water filter, you would admittedly find that some customers were satisfied. Claims that the product removes chlorine and odor are right on target. Unfortunately, that's about all that the maintenance free counter top water filter does. It does not purify.

Your local treatment facility does quite a bit to protect your health. One thing that they can not do is remove certain bacterial cysts that, if ingested, can cause illness and even death, in rare cases. In order to be a purifier, a product should remove these cysts. The clean & pure counter top water filter does not. So, what you are drinking is by no means "pure".

How can the manufacturer of this so-called maintenance free counter top water filter claim that the unit is a purifier? The truth is that the manufacturer makes no such claim. If contacted, they will tell you that the clean & pure counter top water filter is not a purifier. It is just the advertising and the marketing ploys that are misleading.

It turns out that the maintenance free counter top water filter is simply a disposable chlorine remover. It will do nothing to protect you from other chemicals. It does not block cysts. It does not really clean and what it puts out is no "purer" than what comes out of your tap.

For about the same price (), you could get a Brita for your faucet. Brita is not the best on the market. It does not block THMs or VOCs, but it does remove cysts and lead. The clean & pure water filter cannot even protect your family from lead poisoning.

In a number of cities around the country, lead has been found to contaminate tap water. In those areas, citizens are advised not to drink from the tap, unless they have installed a lead blocking purifier. There are many reasonably priced products that will do the job. The clean & pure counter top water filter is not one of them. Make the right choice for your health.

How to select a portion of the water filter 7: dangerous pollutants

Select Part 7 of the way to the range of water filter, we are on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), heavy metals, arsenic and focus. We begin by considering the short-term VOC. Volatile refers to substances that vaporize or evaporate quickly. For example, auto gasoline contains many VOC and evaporates very quickly, which is why the smell of gas so easily. At the molecular level VOCs contain carbon, which is why as organic. They areNatural disasters and man-made and are sometimes found in almost everything. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that VOCs are present in one fifth of the nation's water supply. High on the harmful effects can be acute (immediately hazardous), while long-term impact with small chronic health problems in general can cause central nervous system. There are many substances that qualify as VOCs, but not all dangerous.Perhaps most frustrating is the lack of information on this topic. There is very little known many of the VOCs. Currently, EPA regulates the VOC most commonly found in water. The list includes benzene, 1,2-dichloropropane, dichloromethane, tetrachloroethene, carbon tetrachloride, 1,2-dichloroethane, vinyl chloride and trichlorethylene. Do not be overwhelmed by the scientific name. Although the fear sounding name, and do not want contact with one of them, are all but onequite easily from the water with granular activated carbon (GAC) filter to remove water. The hard part is vinyl chloride, which takes a ventilation system. In short, this is a single system, nozzles, water jets and combine with air used. This allows the vinyl chloride evaporates water. All this is accomplished in a tank that traps and removes harmful gases, average or with special openings to the outside safely. Eventually, the VOCs are terrible, but faireasily removed from the water.

Heavy metals are a bit 'more complicated, especially because there is little scientific consensus on what is known as Heavy Metal. It has been suggested that the term "toxic metals" better, not because the molecular weight of the metal, the main problem. Toxicity is the main problem.

Water Filter

Lead is the most common followed by toxic metals, often in water, the density of Mercury. Fortunately, the lead can be easily removed with standard sodiumTion based softening and / or granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration. Mercury in water, organic and inorganic, and each should be treated differently. Organic mercury is readily removed from the GAC, while inorganic mercury complex needs of a reverse osmosis filtration. This is usually done with a drinking water system, although whole house RO systems are available, but are much more expensive.

As a word of caution you should quit immediately, you mustRemove any contamination at home. This is a typical overreaction to every drop of water throughout the house has to think 100% free of contamination. Maybe in a perfect world, but many pollutants, but very bad if ingested, are fairly benign, if artificial respiration or absorbed through the skin, making drinking water and cooking, the main concern. Please do not miss the point, I wish everyone had the ultrapure water in their house, but compromises. SomeThe impurities are only at concentrations harmful dermal eight or ten thousand times higher than levels that are harmful through consumption.

more harmful trivalent arsenic and arsenic a bit 'less harmful than pentavalent arsenic is available in two variants found in water. Both are carcinogenic, but both are fairly easy to remove from water. For situations of drinking water, reverse osmosis systems with a (Thin Film Composite) membrane and reduced trivalent TFCpentavalent arsenic to 70-80% and 93-99% for applications throughout the home must first be oxidized trivalent arsenic in its pentavalent form. Although chlorination is the traditional method, there are other ways to oxidize the trivalent arsenic. Once oxidized pentavalent arsenic, can be shared with KDF / GAC water cartridges are removed. KDF is kinetic degradation fluxion GAC and activated carbon in granular form. These are the filters regularly, not difficult to find.

*** PleaseNote: It is important to remove pentavalent arsenic filter replacement schedule! It would be better to get in early rather than risk, such as replacing out and start dumping contaminants back into the water .***

With recent events in Japan, especially the radioactive nuclear disaster and subsequent editions devote part 8 of the road for the series of filter for the water with radioactive substances Select.
